Halea
A quieter island known for pearl diving, sea temples, and ancient funerary traditions.
Halea is often regarded as the spiritual heart of the Nacreveil Isles.
Known For
- pearl diving
- sea temples
- funerary traditions
- whale migrations
Villages across Halea maintain traditions older than the current Tide Regency itself.
Many islanders believe the sea remembers all things given to it.
Mainland Distrust
The people of Halea are deeply wary of mainland influence.
Merchants, industrialists, and foreign nobles are viewed with suspicion, especially after increased interest in the Isles following the discovery of kordite.
This tension has created friction with Molokai and certain members of the Free Accord.
Tidewarden Recruitment
The Tidewardens recruit heavily from Halea.
Islanders are respected for:
- discipline
- seamanship
- spiritual conviction
- loyalty to the Isles
Many Tidewardens stationed elsewhere still return to Halea for burial rites and ancestral ceremonies.
Whale Songs
During migration seasons, enormous whales pass near the island shores.
Halean priests believe the songs carry omens from beneath the sea.
