Kaivara
The political and population center of the Nacreveil Isles.
Closest island to where the drowned castle emerged.
Known For
- noble estates
- massive reef harbors
- spice markets
- jungle interior
- Tidewarden headquarters
- strange ancient ruins inland
Kaivara serves as the administrative heart of the Isles, where trade, politics, and naval power converge beneath the authority of the Tide Regent.
The island’s coastal cities are prosperous and densely populated, while the inland jungles remain humid, dangerous, and only partially explored.
Iridesca
Capital city on the southwest coast.
Seat of Lysoria Nacreveil.
Known for layered harbor districts, pearl-lit canals, and sprawling cliffside estates overlooking the sea.
Some consider it to be the magic capital of the world due to its surplus of pearls and other rare gems, which are used as spell components.
The city is also home to the Coralyth Academy - a highly respected magic school.
Greyford
A river settlement in central Kaivara.
Known For
- eel fishing
- ferries
- shrinekeeping
- rain-soaked farms
The people of Greyford value:
- routine
- hard work
- survival
The surrounding jungle presses close against the settlement, and heavy fog hangs low across the river most mornings.
Travelers often describe Greyford as quiet, stubborn, and perpetually damp.
Blackwake Point
A rugged coastal settlement along Kaivara’s storm-beaten shores.
Known For
- lighthouse keepers
- naval wardens
- monster hunters
- storm rituals
Blackwake Point maintains some of the oldest active lighthouse towers in the Isles, many built directly into jagged cliff faces overlooking dangerous waters.
Local traditions surrounding storms and sea omens are taken far more seriously here than elsewhere in Kaivara.
House Marrowyn
The noble House Marrowyn historically oversaw Blackwake Point and its surrounding waters.
Recently, however, the house has gone strangely silent.
Supply shipments arrive irregularly, lighthouse signals have reportedly failed on multiple nights, and several Tidewarden patrols sent to investigate have not returned with clear answers.
Current Tensions
Since the emergence of the drowned castle, Kaivara has become the center of mounting political anxiety throughout the Isles.
Rumors spread daily concerning:
- vanished expeditions
- strange blood-coated pearls
- merfolk sightings
- inland ruins awakening
- disappearances along the coast
